Hammerer Aluminum Industries in Sântana recertified according to ASI Performance Standard

Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) has achieved recertification in accordance with the ASI standard for its casting facility in Sântana (Romania). This means that the HAI Group is consistently on course to become the most dynamic and sustainable provider of aluminum solutions.

Ranshofen (10.12.2024) – With the Performance Standard recertification of the Aluminium Steward Initiative (ASI) for Hammerer Aluminium Industries Sântana S.R.L. (Romania), the HAI Group remains true to its commitment to sustainable aluminum products along the entire value chain.

Decarbonization requires consistency

The HAI Group consistently pursues the continuous reduction of the corporate carbon footprint in all business processes. This also includes regular recertification in accordance with the highest industry standards and investments in the expansion of the technical infrastructure for sustainable aluminum production. The HAI Group has pursued both of these in a focused manner at the Sântana site and has once again achieved ASI certification as a result.

Efficient recycling is the key

HAI lays the foundation for successful recertification in accordance with the ASI Performance Standard with the consistent use of recycled aluminum. “A high use of recycled aluminum scrap from all product segments is essential for us to make a significant contribution to the sustainable aluminum value chain. We are consistently expanding aluminum recycling at the Sântana foundry as well as at our casting site in Ranshofen,” explains COO Dr. Markus Schober.

Green investments at the Sântana site

In addition to commissioning a 5.5 MWp photovoltaic park for green electricity at the Sântana site, the HAI Group has also invested three million euros in an IDex Decoater system, more than quadrupling the monthly quota of shredded recycled material. HAI thus offers even more flexibility and market orientation for SustainAl products with a reduced CO2 footprint.

With its sustainable complete aluminum solutions, HAI is a strong partner for reducing the CO2 footprint in the transport, industry and construction sectors.
