HAI presents the sustainability report for 2023
Sustainability is a core and future-oriented topic for the HAI Group. It is therefore important to inform all stakeholders about developments and progress in this area, which is why HAI publishes an annual sustainability report.
Ranshofen (24.05.2024) – One of the HAI Group’s declared goals is to continuously increase the sustainability of aluminum products through constant innovation. This is intended to make aluminum even more sustainable and efficient as a raw material for products in known fields of application, but also to make it available for new fields of application.
Sustainability is a fundamental part of Hammerer Aluminum Industries’ corporate identity. HAI is a family business and responsible management is firmly anchored in company policy. This includes not only sustainable production processes, but also health protection, occupational safety and the promotion of local procurement as well as long-term customer and supplier relationships. Employees are the key to success, which is why a large number of initiatives have been implemented to ensure their satisfaction and health.
The ambitious strategy, with a focus on sustainability, makes HAI a pioneer in lightweight aluminum construction. HAI has been involved in the circular economy and recycling since the company was founded in 2007. Through efficient recycling processes, the use of primary aluminum from certified production, high scrap content and exclusively green electricity, the aluminum specialist makes an important contribution to reducing emissions and the transition to an ecological economy.
Sustainability initiatives have been and are being consistently established along the entire value chain in order to continue to develop. HAI has also committed to climate neutrality by 2050. Customers are pursuing ambitious emissions targets.
The current sustainability report relates to the 2023 reporting period from 1.1.2023-31.12.2023. This corresponds to the reporting period of the financial report. The report was prepared with reference to the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
The HAI Group
Hammerer Aluminium Industries employs 2,100 people. Founded in 2007, the company has its headquarters in Ranshofen, Upper Austria, and eight other locations in Germany, Romania and Poland. HAI looks back on a special success story. Here, the dynamism and innovative spirit of a young company are combined with the experience of a traditional business. In 2023, HAI realised a turnover of 890 million euros in the three production areas of casting, extrusion and processing. The products of the HAI Group can be found in the construction sector as well as in automotive and transport technology, electrical engineering and mechanical and plant engineering.
