Hammerer Aluminium Industries has achieved certification to the ASI standard at its extrusion plant in Chisineu-Cris. The certification to one of the highest industry standards underlines the importance of the HAI Group’s sustainability strategy.
Ranshofen (17.01.2023) – After the two company-owned foundries in 2020 and the Extrusion & Processing in Ranshofen (2022), the aluminium expert Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) has now achieved the Performance Standard certification of the Aluminium Steward Initiative (ASI) for the extrusion area at the Chisineu-Cris site (Romania).
Sustainability strategy as a success factor
The HAI Group is pursuing all opportunities to actively drive decarbonisation. The certification of the four extrusion lines in Chisineu-Cris according to the ASI standard is another important development, as COO Markus Schober emphasises: “We are working with maximum commitment on the sustainable design of all business processes along the value chain. That is why receiving the ASI Performance Standard for our extrusion plant in Chisineu-Cris, Romania, fills us with great pride. After the certification of our two casting plants in 2020 and our extrusion plant in Ranshofen in 2022, this is the next step to contribute to a better future and produce aluminium as part of the solution to the ambitions of the EU Green Deal.”
59 criteria for sustainability checked by TÜV Rheinland
During the independent audit by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH, the extrusion plant in Chisineu-Cris was checked for compliance with 59 criteria. The criteria within the three sustainability pillars ‘Corporate Governance’, ‘Environment’ and ‘Social’ are checked by external auditors.
